AI Use & Disclosure Policy

Last Updated: July 2026

At Alana Karin Designs, transparency, creativity, and thoughtful design are at the heart of how we work. As creative technology continues to evolve, artificial intelligence (“AI”) may be used as a supporting tool within certain aspects of our creative process, business operations, digital products, and content development.

This policy explains how Alana Karin Designs (“AKD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) may use AI-assisted tools and how AI-generated or AI-assisted content may appear within our services and products.

1. Our Approach to AI

1.1 AI as a Creative Tool

Alana Karin Designs may use AI-powered tools to support portions of the creative and business process. Depending on the project, these tools may assist with tasks such as:

  • Creative brainstorming and concept exploration

  • Moodboard or visual direction development

  • Image generation or enhancement

  • Mockup creation and presentation

  • Content organization and ideation

  • Research assistance

  • Website or marketing copy development and refinement

  • Administrative workflows and productivity

AI is used as a supporting creative tool—not as a replacement for professional design expertise, strategy, or creative judgment.

Final client work is thoughtfully reviewed, refined, customized, and approved by Alana Karin Designs before delivery.

1.2 Human Creative Direction

The creative direction, design decisions, strategy, layout, typography, color selection, brand application, and overall execution of AKD projects are guided by professional design experience and the individual needs of each client.

When AI-assisted elements are incorporated into a project, they may be edited, combined, manipulated, retouched, or otherwise transformed as part of the larger creative process.

2. AI-Assisted Client Projects

2.1 Use Within Client Work

AI-assisted tools may occasionally be used during client projects when they support the creative direction or improve the efficiency of the design process.

Examples may include concept visualization, image enhancement, background creation or removal, generative image editing, mockups, brainstorming, or supporting content development.

The use of AI does not eliminate the custom strategy, professional judgment, or hands-on design work involved in developing the final project.

2.2 Client-Provided Materials

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate rights, permissions, licenses, or authorization to provide any photographs, logos, written content, artwork, or other materials submitted to Alana Karin Designs for use within a project.

If client-provided materials are used with AI-assisted editing or enhancement tools, the client remains responsible for confirming that those materials may legally be used for the intended purpose.

2.3 AI-Generated Imagery

When AI-generated imagery is incorporated into a client project, AKD may modify or combine that imagery with original design elements to create the final composition.

Because laws and regulations surrounding AI-generated content continue to evolve, AKD cannot guarantee that purely AI-generated elements will qualify for copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property protection in every jurisdiction.

Clients seeking trademark registration or other formal intellectual-property protection should consult a qualified legal professional before relying on AI-generated imagery as a primary protected brand asset.

3. Logo and Brand Identity Design

Because logos and brand identities are intended to uniquely represent a business, Alana Karin Designs takes a more intentional approach to the use of AI within identity development.

AI may be used for research, brainstorming, creative exploration, or inspiration, but final custom logo designs are developed and refined through the professional design process.

AKD does not intentionally deliver an unmodified, directly generated AI image as a custom logo and represent it as fully original hand-created artwork.

Clients should understand that AI tools can sometimes produce imagery with similarities to existing creative works. AKD makes reasonable efforts to create distinctive final designs; however, clients pursuing trademark protection should conduct appropriate trademark searches and consult a qualified intellectual-property professional.

4. AI-Generated or AI-Assisted Digital Products

4.1 Disclosure

Certain digital products, resources, templates, mockups, graphics, imagery, or other creative assets sold or distributed by Alana Karin Designs may contain AI-generated or AI-assisted elements.

When AI plays a meaningful role in the creation of a product, AKD may disclose this information within the applicable product description, listing, licensing information, or accompanying documentation.

4.2 Licensing

Unless otherwise stated, the purchase of an AKD digital product grants the purchaser a license to use the product according to the specific licensing terms provided with that product.

Purchasers may not, unless expressly permitted:

  • Resell or redistribute the original files as standalone assets.

  • Claim AI-generated or AKD-created elements as entirely their own original artwork.

  • Repackage or resell AKD products, templates, or assets in a competing resource or digital product.

  • Use purchased assets to train artificial-intelligence models, machine-learning systems, or automated content-generation tools.

  • Register or attempt to claim exclusive intellectual-property rights over unmodified AI-generated elements when such rights may not legally exist.

Original design elements created by Alana Karin Designs remain the intellectual property of AKD unless ownership is specifically transferred through a written agreement.

5. Similarity, Originality & AI Limitations

Generative AI systems may produce outputs that are similar to imagery created for or received by other users.

Because AI platforms generate content based on complex models and prompts, Alana Karin Designs cannot guarantee that an AI-generated element will be completely unique or that similar imagery will never be generated elsewhere.

When exclusivity is especially important—such as for logos, trademarks, signature illustrations, packaging identities, or proprietary brand assets—AKD may recommend relying primarily on custom-designed elements rather than unmodified AI-generated imagery.

6. AI-Assisted Copy & Content

AI-assisted writing tools may be used to help brainstorm, organize, draft, edit, or refine certain content appearing on the Alana Karin Designs website, blog, social media platforms, marketing materials, educational resources, or digital products.

All published AKD content is reviewed, edited, and approved before publication to ensure it aligns with the brand’s voice, perspective, and intended message.

AI-generated or AI-assisted content is not intended to replace professional legal, financial, medical, or other specialized advice.

7. Client Feedback, Creative Direction & Use of AI

7.1 Client Feedback

Alana Karin Designs values thoughtful client feedback as an essential part of the creative process. Feedback should reflect the client’s own thoughts, preferences, business goals, target audience, and the creative direction established and approved throughout the project.

Clients are encouraged to provide clear, specific, and consolidated feedback based on their personal evaluation of the concepts presented.

7.2 AI-Generated Feedback & Design Critiques

Clients may not use artificial intelligence tools—including AI chatbots, image-analysis tools, design generators, or similar platforms—to generate, evaluate, rewrite, or substantially influence feedback, critiques, revision requests, or creative direction for work presented by Alana Karin Designs.

AI-generated critiques may evaluate creative work without understanding the full brand strategy, project objectives, target audience, approved creative direction, technical requirements, or professional reasoning behind specific design decisions. As a result, such feedback may conflict with the established direction of the project or lead to revisions that fall outside the original scope.

Client feedback should represent the client’s own genuine perspective and decision-making rather than recommendations generated by an automated system.

7.3 AI-Generated Revisions or Alternatives

Clients may not upload AKD-created concepts, drafts, logos, brand assets, layouts, website designs, illustrations, or other creative work into generative AI platforms for the purpose of:

  • Generating alternative versions or competing concepts based on AKD’s work.

  • Recreating, modifying, or reverse-engineering a presented design.

  • Generating revision instructions or design critiques to submit as client feedback.

  • Using AKD-created work as a prompt, reference image, or source material to generate new creative assets.

  • Attempting to reproduce unfinished concepts or unapproved drafts outside of the agreed-upon design process.

This restriction applies to concepts, drafts, proofs, and other work-in-progress materials, whether or not the client ultimately selects or approves the concept.

7.4 Revisions Based on AI-Generated Feedback

Alana Karin Designs reserves the right to decline revision requests that are primarily based on AI-generated critiques or recommendations when those revisions conflict with the approved creative direction, professional design standards, or original project scope.

If AI-generated feedback results in requests for a substantially different creative direction, additional concepts, redevelopment of previously approved work, or work outside the agreed scope, the request may be treated as additional work and subject to additional fees.

7.5 Protecting the Creative Process

The purpose of this policy is not to discourage clients from asking questions or seeking clarity about their designs. Clients are always welcome to discuss concerns, preferences, or ideas directly with Alana Karin Designs.

The goal is to maintain a collaborative designer-client relationship in which creative decisions are based on the client’s business needs, the established brand strategy, and AKD’s professional expertise—not automated critiques from tools that do not have full context of the project.

8. Third-Party AI Tools & Platforms

Alana Karin Designs may use third-party software or platforms that include AI-powered features.

These may include tools used for graphic design, image editing, website development, writing assistance, productivity, mockup creation, or other creative functions.

The availability and operation of these tools are governed by the respective third-party providers’ terms, licensing agreements, privacy policies, and usage restrictions.

AKD is not responsible for changes made by third-party platforms to their AI technology, licensing terms, functionality, or policies.

9. Accuracy & Limitations of AI

Artificial intelligence can occasionally generate inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or unexpected information or imagery.

For this reason, AI-generated outputs used by Alana Karin Designs are treated as starting points or supporting materials rather than automatically accepted final work.

AKD reviews and refines AI-assisted content when appropriate; however, clients are responsible for reviewing final project materials and verifying business-specific information—including pricing, service details, policies, claims, statistics, legal language, and other factual information—before approving materials for publication or distribution.

10. Updates to This Policy

AI technology, intellectual-property guidance, platform policies, and industry standards continue to evolve.

Alana Karin Designs reserves the right to revise this AI Use & Disclosure Policy as our tools, services, products, and creative processes evolve.

Updates will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Alana Karin Designs website, services, or applicable digital products following an update constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy where permitted by law.
